It might snow. I think there's, like, a 40% chance of it. So what's happening? The usual freak-out-ness of it all. Schools are letting out early (but after the half day mark so that we don't have to make it up) so essentially kids are coming to school for breakfast and lunch. Of course, the high school and middle schools will be released when the "storm" is supposed to be here. We'll see. However, I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. I got the message that we can leave when staff leaves...so I'm outta here. Fingers are crossed that tonight's staff meeting will be rescheduled, too.
So my last post was uber-whiney-riffic, if I do say so myself. And I do. I'm still tired but actually have gotten about 5 hours of sleep the last couple of nights. On Friday I hauled my cookies to the doctor and got the pain thingy looked at. Miss Graceful, here, somehow managed to tear the fibers that connect your ribs. I didn't even know you could do that. So I'm on prescription pain meds...one for day and one for night. The day stuff isn't my fav as I have to take Nexium before I take it so it doesn't tear my stomach a new one. So I get up and take my thyroid medicine, wait an hour, take the Nexium, wait an hour and THEN I can eat breakfast and take the pain med...which take about an hour + to kick in. It's 10 am and I've been up since 5:30 and they are just now kicking in, if that gives you an idea.
Anyhow, the exercise is on hold because of this fiber tearing thing (6 wks to heal...I'll give walking a try next week) and eating smartly is not happening. I guess since we've decided to do this Daniel Plan thing when the Bible study comes in (shipping on 2/3), we're kinda doing an eating free-for-all for the things we won't eat the 40 days we are on the plan.
Wow...two hours and I'll be heading home. There's dishes to do, chili to start (of course we are having chili to celebrate the chilly! But I gotta remember to stop and buy Fritos!), and classwork to try to do. Plus getting ready for TeamKID tomorrow. It's a packed week, I tell ya! Gotta get while the getting's good.

And so it starts...
I really don't know why I'm surprised every year at this point. I mean, it happens EVERY YEAR! The inevitable "everyone cram as much as they can in to a small window of time" that happens before Christmas break and summer break.
Last week the ice was broken, so to speak, with Lorie's Work-Based Learning Awards Night. But that was Tuesday and I got to have a bit of breathing room. But this week? Monday is the Superintendent's Awards Program, tomorrow is the incoming student/parent meeting for marching band (and you'd think with Jo being the 4th to go through the program I could get out of it, right? Oh no! Jo gets to "meet" other new band members. So we'll go...humph!), Wednesday is church, Thursday I have a luncheon awards program for Lorie with the Rotary Club and Lorie and Meg have their Rockdale Career Academy Honors Night (AND, Dayannah comes home), Friday is Meg's Drum Major audition. Add in Tuesday and Thursday band practices for Lorie and Meg in preparation for some pep rally? And you can stick a fork in me...I'm done! And that's just one week. My May calendar is looking really full and about to get fuller, so I'm told, with some changes that may be coming my way.

Breath in, breath out. Cling to Dr. Pepper. And above all, just keep swimming!

Geez! How'd it get to be March?
It really doesn't seem like it's been 3 months since I've blogged, but I guess it is. Computers don't lie...or do they? The family's in a upheaval right now trying to get the Spring mess cleaned up. Meagan and big Kenny are getting ready to go for a 3 day trip to St. Simons on the 5th grade field trip. He's a bit overwhelmed with school, getting ready for the Spring season of ball and just regular church stuff. But how can he say no to Meagan? I had no less than 10 staff members come to me today to say that she was so excited to be going to St. Simons with her dad. I know if there was a way for him to get out of it, he would just so he could stay afloat with his work. Also funny, while he's there he'll have to call in to our local radio station. They have a contest called "BAttle of the Sexes" where they have a male caller and a female caller answering questions. The one that gets the most right wins. He signed up and what-do-you-know, they called him to play! He has to call in for the recording session. So funny. The kids are so excited that they're dad will be on the radio.
Other than that, we're about to fall headfirst into Spring ball, finish up Lorie's time with the drama dept at the middle school with their performance this next weekend, then move into dealing with Meg and Jo's school production. There are just no lulls in my life. Right now we're just trying to stay afloat and enjoy it while we're able. Soon the four kids will be up to their eyeballs in their own lives. I figured THEN Kenny and I can breathe.

The first day of the rest of this blog...
I've been inspired by my little sister (not the first time, sure not to be the last) and so begins my foray into the Blog-o-sphere.
Thursdays are our "ouch" day, meaning it's busy from sun-up to sun-down and if someone doesn't pull their weight..."ouch." My day starts at 5:15 since I have to be at my desk by 7 and have 3 little girls (okay, one ain't so little and pulls her own weight) to help get ready. Meagan has 1.5 hrs of clogging classes, Lorie has guitar lessons and Kenny has drums in the afternoon. Daddy takes Lorie and Kenny from school to lessons to home and they deal with dinner. I take Meg to clogging and spend the time she has in class tootling around town with Jo in tow and we do dinner. All that just means I'm too pooped to party when I get home. Best thing about Thursdays is that it's Becca-day! Daddy pays one of the teenagers to come and mop the kitchen, vacuum the house, scrub the kitchen and dust. It's wonderful to come home after a l-o-o-ong day and the house is clean!!
